Let’s carry the conversation… I’m excited to see us as the Church move beyond the hour we meet together, I love to see us interact with each other, and carry the conversation beyond the four walls of the church building.  We try and do that here on the blog.  During the service we invite you to text questions/comments/thoughts my way, and then we get together as a community afterwards and mull them over.  If you weren’t able to be at the 5 tonight, you can jump over here and check out the teaching.

So, tonight, I forgot to warn everyone to get their cell phones out and be ready to text questions and thoughts… So, we didn’t get any questions this week.  Due to that fact, you will have the distinct privilege of hearing my highlights for the night.

Here they are…  (In no particular order)

1.  Hearing a guy about my age say he came tonight because two middle age men gave him a balloon at First Friday @ downtown Doylestown.  Seriously that was one of the funniest things I’ve heard in a long time.  Good work Ken and Dean.

2.  Meeting Chad, a guy who works out at the Y.  He goes, hey don’t you go to the Y?  Very cool… Glad you were there Chad!

3.  Wrapping up our teaching series, “Foundations”, on what it means to be the Church.

4.  Being able to enjoy the community that God has designed for each of us, and enjoying it at 5:00 on Sunday evenings!

5.  Watching our night lights kids program grow!  We had over 15 kids there last night! I’m loving that.

6.  Hearing stories of how people invited their friends and family to come to the Five.

7.  Anticipating what God is going to do next!

I’m really excited to see what God is going to do with the Five!  Keep us in prayer!

This Sunday night was the first night of the Five!  It was great.  We had a great turnout and I was really excited to see the enthusiasm in the room.  I can’t even tell you how excited I am by the Five.

Here are some highlights for me:

  • Meeting up with a couple that Tiffany and I went to PBU with, and connecting with them Sunday night.  Who knew!
  • Seeing multiple generations represented in this service…
  • Watching the five team come together and transform the fellowship hall into a worship space
  • Preaching
  • Challenging the church to engage the culture around them outside of the church’s walls.
  • Singing God of this city, and truly believing that Greater things are yet to come here in Doylestown.
  • I can’t wait for this Sunday night.

Here’s a few blurry shots from the service.
