In a recent parent teacher conference Noah’s teacher said that she has never had a student care about others like Noah does. WOW, right? I mean as a parent I am so proud of him.  I was expecting to hear that my kid was the weird kid that stands in front of the urinal with his pants at his ankles.  AWKWARD.  But no!  Instead she surprises us with great stuff!  Then, I get this video from Tiffany today.  This just put me over the edge.  So, indulge me for a minute.

I could not be more proud of Noah, not because he wants to follow in my footsteps, but because God is developing a really soft spot in his heart for people! I LOVE THIS about him.  This reminds me to keep praying for each one of my kids.  I love them, and believe that God has something really special in store for each of them.

What are you praying about for your kids?

When I came home from Youth Group last night Tiffany said, I have something you need to see.  I was met with both fear and excitement.  What is it that she could possibly have for me… Bills?  Or something amazing…  Who knew?  Well, all of a sudden, she pops up this little ditty right below, and I thought it would be unfair of me not to share the love on this fine Labor Day.  So grab someone you know and love and enjoy this one… Pretty funny if you ask me…

What has been the most creative thing you have ever experienced at a wedding?

I think for me it was the time they blew bubbles instead of throwing rice at the bride and groom!  (Add a generous helping of sarcasm to that last one)

Or there was the time that my wife was invited to the wedding/reception and I wasn’t!  (Nope, no sarcasm there, just all truth…)  That’s creativity! I think… … …

Anyway… Here’s to all you happy engaged couples…  Enjoy your wedding, it really is the start to one of the best times of your life!

So, as we have previously discussed here at the saltlick not only are there classes of people (blue collar, white collar, no collar…) there are also classes of fridges…  We are going to base this study upon the cheese drawer.  I have pictorial evidence of our dear friends fridge with an upper crust, or rind if you will.  They are several grates above the rest of our cheese.  (pardon the terrible puns… I couldn’t help it.)  Check out this post I wrote about it.

Recently our fridge has moved up a couple class levels.  We have some really close friends who live down at the Jersey shore.  We love spending time with them.  Every chance we get we make sure to stop in and see them.  While we were there last time we had some cheese and crackers, and we met this cheese that was absolutely unbelievable.  It was called Havarti!  Doesn’t it even sound delicious?  Say it with me now… Ha-var-ti.  Well Tiffany was at Trader Joe’s the other day and found it, bought it, and brought it home.  We dropped that baby in the cheese drawer, and as soon as the door was closed I’m sure it went all toy story in that drawer.  The string cheese and the shredded Mozzarella ganged up on the poor halivarti.  Well, all this to say, we’ve moved up a fridge class. Here’s pictorial proof.

So as promised, I have gotten the video up from our trip to the zoo the other day.  Check this guy out! This squirrel is amazing.  His little cage is tucked so far away in the trees, I wondered why they even had a squirrel in a cage, and then I saw it… I figured out why… He literally is the star of the zoo.  He officially should take the place of the “Big Cats” exhibit.  Anyhow, we had a great time as a family, just romping through the zoo.  Check this out…

What have you done for fun lately?

So, I know that I said that I was going to go to bed, but then we started really laughing.  We felt like this was too funny not to share with the world.  Enjoy!  This is who i could have been, if I was born a little earlier…  I guess I should thank my mom and dad for sparing me from some of these years…

Which is your favorite?
