I love the seasons.  I particularly like the change of seasons.  For whatever reason I enjoy change.  I like when spring turns to summer, I love when summer turns to fall, and I am anticipating fall turning to winter.  There is nothing like when winter’s grip breaks loose and spring begins to show herself.  Right about now I have had enough of the heat wave and I am excited for it to cool off a bit.  Alas, that is why I love the change of seasons.  I enjoy change.

Seasons aren’t just weather related.  Many of us have been through seasons of life and we have seen changes come and go in our own lives.  It has been over 8 months since I have last written anything here on the Salt Lick.  There have been moments when I felt like writing something and then I paused, thought about it and decided against it.  For whatever reason I felt like I was in a season of life where I didn’t have anything else to say.  The last thing that I wanted to do was just add to the noise in life.  So I felt it best to remain quiet.

Seasons change.  There have been a lot that has happened in the last 8 months.  Some really amazing things.  It has been an incredible 8 months and I am expecting another incredible 8 months (hopefully more).

I am excited to share them with you, and I will let it out in dribs and drabs as time permits.  It is hard to unpack what God has been doing in my life over the last 8 months in one post.  It will be several.  Tomorrow there will be big news though.  I have been waiting to share this with you because I am really excited to see how God works in this particular situation…

I know for me the last 8 months have been incredible.  But what about you?  What has happened in the last 8 months? Leave a comment below and let’s hear about it!

I’ve been quiet lately, and I will tell you just not right now.  I need more time to process it and think.  I think that I owe you an apology.  I can start with that.

I was gone over the weekend speaking in Penn Argyl.  I had a great time there with my extended church family.  I had an opportunity to challenge the people, and also challenge their youth group.  Praise God that He spoke this past weekend.  I do believe that the Holy Spirit showed up in a big way.  So thank you to each one of you who were praying for me.  It was definately needed.  I’ll get back to you all soon.  I have been out of the office for what seems like a while and I need to get tons done today!

So, I guess it’s for real. Me and Blogging that is. We’re pretty much a steady item these days. You could say that we are pretty serious about each other. So, we took the next step together.

We are residing at www.thesaltlick.tv.

Pretty cool…

For those of you who are coming to check it out everyday, I’m thankful that your there. I appreciate it… It’s a pretty cool platform to express thoughts and feelings. I love being able to share with you in such an informal atmosphere what God is showing me, teaching me and bringing into my life. I also really like the fact that it could be bringing people together from all over the world… I know it’s pretty high and lofty thoughts, but still, pretty cool thought to think that someone may stumble upon this site and read about who God really is and what He is really like… Hence the whole Salt Lick idea…

I’m sitting here at Saxby’s Coffee in Lansdale getting ready for my sermon on this Sunday. I’m taking a thought break… I’m listening to my boys James and Phil play some live music here at Saxbys Coffee. I’m loving it. Right now their playing a great rendition of High and Dry by Radiohead.

Thoughts going through my mind right now:

  1. Wish my wife was here with me now…
  2. Sure would like a Mocha Latte
  3. Wish I had my sermon completely finished… as in DONE…
  4. Can’t wait to preach this Sunday
  5. Looking forward to sleeping through the night for the first time all week, thanks Keswick
  6. Wish we could be back at Keswick with our youth group
  7. Gotta get back to the sermon prep

Come on out this Sunday to FBC Doylestown if you want to give me some emotional support! I would love it… (or stay home and pray, that’s even better…)
