So, not really, but I’m on the cover of a rock star’s album. It’s true. My face made the cover! Here it is… Check it out. I’m the guy in between the two arrows, of which I supplied. They unfortunately weren’t a part of the original artwork. James has nothing on me now…

So, it’s been about 3 months since I’ve started blogging. I always wonder who is reading this stuff? I wonder how did they find this site? Why do they keep coming back… that type of stuff. I always wonder about you. So in the spirit of answering the question which is plaguing my soul, please tell me a little about yourself. Here’s some of my other questions…(to help you get started)
So, of you all who are out there reading this, I wonder, how many of you have a blog? I wonder, have I ever read it? If not, I would like to. So, here’s the instructions. If you read The Salt Lick, and you have a blog, please let me know the name of your blog.
Part two… If you don’t currently have a blog, What would you name your blog if you had one, and what would you blog about?
Fill me in!

So yesterday tiffany. And I went to the lake with the kids and on our way home she said something like this, “you’re like a jeysetter or something.” see today I am flying out to Texas with grace to see my parents again. It had been a little bit since the last time I was there. It will be great to spend sometime there with them. So again, I go mobile. I will be blogging from Waxahachie Texas! Check it out. It’s a neat town. One of my favorite things about WAXAHACHIE is that they have a SONIC. Do any of you like sonic out there?
Well it is 6 in the morning est. I just woke grace up and she had no diaper on. She had ripped it and ger pants off in the night. Neat huh? Please god do not let this be a sign of the things to come! Well I go airborn in a few hours you can be praying that I have a great trip and a real opportunity to encourage my parents. Thanks!

here we are at keswick for a great week. Tiff and Noah and grace are all here with me. It is going to be a fun week for everyone. This weeks theme is “21st century Jesus” we are working through the different images of Jesus that have been put on him by others and then we are going to be looking at what the Bible calls Jesus, such as healer, savior, friend, king, lord, and lover. I am really looking forward to what God is going to do in our group this week. You can pray that He would draw us closer together as a group. Last night was awesome. Here we are at day 1. Bring it on!!!

Tomorrow we leave for America’s Keswick in Whiting New Jersey. We are headed to Keswick for a week with our Senior High youth group. I am really looking forward to this week. I have been praying that this would be a great week for us to grow together as a group and to grow in our walk with the Lord. I was bouncing around on Keswick’s website this morning and I found out that they have a disc golf course! How awesome is that? I will have to bring my discs with me. Bring on the tournaments! The other recreational activity that I am looking forward to is some half court basket ball. Now, here’s the disclaimer: Basketball and I tolerate each other. I really enjoy playing the game, however my lacrosse tendencies kick in, and I begin to move in ways which cause the whistle to be blown. However, I have been known to enjoy a good game of pickup basketball.
Keswick is not far from my old stompin grounds there in NJ. It is actually only 15 minutes away from my in laws house, so this will work out really well for Tiffany and the kids. I am really excited to see noah interact with all of our kids and see how that works out. It is always great to have Tiffany with us anywhere we go. I am 100% sure that she is the reason that 1 year ago, I got a call back from the Youth Pastor Search Committee here at FBC. I can’t sing her praises enough. It is great being married to your best friend! So less than 24 hours from now I will be at Keswick for the week. Off we go! Maybe I’ll post from the phone… Updates and such…

Awkwardness follows me. I think it stalks me… Awkwardness surrounds me at just about the worst times. Have you ever found yourself in a situation that is just nothing other than the word awkward? In the last week or so, I have been in one situation after another. Whoever is dealing out the awkwardness… I’ve had my fair share for a while. Let someone else take a hit for the team.
What is the most awkward thing that’s happened to you in the last few months?
So here are a couple thoughts of what is going through my mind right now.
- We’re painting the Student Center today. I am excited about getting the next phase of the student center started. We are trying to work with a factory or warehouse feel. So the walls will be painted a silverish color. The center wall behind the stage will be a blue color. A whole bunch of people will be coming to help paint today! I am so thankful to have all their help.
- Packing for Vacation tomorrow. AH! I’ve got to get the van cleaned out, and then packed up with all of our gear in order for us to get down to Cape Hatteras tomorrow. It will be a great time to relax and rest. I can’t wait.
- I’m still thinking about what Pete Wilson wrote in this post. Man that would be an incredibly scary thing to be cast off into the fire. To be cut down and set aside simply because you didn’t abide. To see all the hard work done in ministry set aside; scary, and sad. I’m thinking about how I can abide better today, tomorrow and the next day.
Could it be you? Could you be the 1,000th person who has come to read the thoughts and feelings of a child of God, husband, father, son, youth pastor, etc? In the last month or so, I have posted almost everyday, and right now, we are on the husk of reaching 1,000. Very cool. Thanks so much for coming and reading! Hope it’s been fun, or at least interesting… Maybe it was you who made it roll over to four digits!
So, tomorrow marks the culmination of the 6 week Focus on Your Family campaign that we did at our church. Tomorrow and Sunday we will be hosting and teaching a Charting Your Families Spiritual Course seminar. This whole emphasis on the family has got me thinking…
How many kids do I want to have? Or how many kids did I think that I wanted to have? Noah and Grace are awesome. I love them like crazy. Do I want anymore kids to love like crazy?
How about you, how many kids do you want to have? If you already have a herd, how many did you plan on having?
I don’t know. I think it’s interesting to hear why some people only want X amount of kids.
So what about you. Let me hear you!
