I have got some great friends… Let me tell you about a few. So, I’ve got this friend Rick. Rick is Old. (Okay not really that old) Rick is like one of the funniest guys ever. See, Rick was a banker for years, and now Rick works at a college. He is awesome. I love Rick because he is a thinker, yet at the same time not removed from us normal people. Rick thinks about stuff, and is super intelligent about things. That’s generally a fresh perspective for me! Rick has an arm that doesn’t bend all the way either. Which makes for some funny jokes too. Gotta love Rick.
I have a friend James. James is so musical. He touches strings and they just begin to make music. I’m pretty sure that if we put 6 pieces of fishing line on the back of my VW Golf, he could play it and like seriously do some musical damage. James inspires me to be creative and artistic, both musically and in other ways. James also isn’t afraid to ask how I am really doing.
I have a friend Matt. Matt is great. Matt and I can get laughing and laughing about some of the dumbest stuff, but it’s the kind of laugh that when it’s over you actually feel better about life. Matt challenges me to continue to find out more about stuff. See Matt is training to be a CSI. So, in a weird way, Matt is always looking at things, and situations and figuring them out. I want to do that better. I want to look at stuff and be able to really understand what is going on behind the scenes.
I have a friend Tom. Tom is the type of friend who is their for you whenever you need something. You know how yesterday I was stranded at the airport? Well, I blog about it, and no sooner did I do that, then i get a phone call asking if I need to be picked up. Tom is an awesome guy. Tom makes me want to be a better servant. To literally pick up the towel and wash feet just the way that Jesus did. I see that in Tom. I want that for my life.
There are countless other stories that I could share with you. Countless other people who I could mention. It’s important to have friends. Friends are so important. I am so thankful for the friends that God has put into my life. For all of you, I am grateful.
Who are your friends? What are you learning from your friends?

YES, this has been an unbelievable week. do you wonder why you can’t seem to make this trip happen? what if that plane crashed… ok… but i didn’t hear that it did. wonder why GOD allowed this disappointment at such a time as this?
And for friends… I had a friend who could do music with me… we just knew when we were going to do something… somehow we could feel it… and she knew just how to encourage… wow, she was a good encourager~ and i miss her.
I grew up with a friend Matt…He was the kind of guy that accepted me for who I am. No games, no drama, just a true friend. The last time I saw Matt, was at his mother’s funeral. Probably a few years back. Matt is the kind of guy that we can pick up where we left off, even if it has been years. Our friendship is the kind of thing that you just know is there…A piece of the past, a foundation of the present, and hopefully a surprise for the future. Cherish your time with friends as they come in and out of your life. I am thankful for the friends in my life…They all in a small way reflect the complete friend that I have in Jesus (not sure if that makes sense, but I think it does in my head at least)
I am the one mentioned by the author, Peter is a great friend. I am inspired and encouraged when Peter tries something and just goes with it. Normally for me, I would hesitate in a situation like this hoping for all the details to line up. Peter just holds his head high and has a great time doing it. Even though, Peter makes fun of my Left arm not straighting, I know that God used this in a mighty way to change how I looked at life. Peter has said in the past that if and when he can make fun of you, that is when you know that you are one of his friends. I am honored to be called his friend.
The other three other people that come to my mind are Jason, Matt and my Wife:
Jason was my Best man in my wedding 2 years 11 months and 11 days ago. He is a really good friend, kind of like Tom dropping everything, Jason on the evening when I found my grandmother after suffering her second stroke which she died from later, dropped everything and took me to the Hospital and waited until I could get a hold of my mom. The events began at 5:30pm and lasted until 1:30am. At 1:30am he mentioned that it was time to go, at 6:00am the next morning he awoke to go to his class. I will never forget his sacrifice and hope to always strive to be as good of a friend to my friends as he was to me.
Matt is the same, Matt mentioned in Peter’s blog, he is left handed, although I am not I wish I was. He and I pay attention to details and often observe the same things. Although, I am too far behind all the extra CSI things that he sees. I am more a casual observer. Jack of some trades Master of none. I have enjoyed Matts friendship over the years. I enjoy Matt’s laugh as well, espcially when it sounds like other peoples….(you know what I mean)… I am so thankful for friends…
Sarah means the world to me, she puts up with all of my craziness and that dreadful laugh that comes out at not only the strangest times, but also when something isnt funny to everyone else and it is to me. She builds me up, and is always there for me. She works so much harder than i do, and is a much better cook. I love her very mcuh.
I told you there was a reason for why I loved RICK! This guy is awesome.
