In the effort to save some money my wife and I have decided to get rid of our Tivo service. Sounds good huh? Well, if I knew how great it was going to be, I would have returned that box a long time ago… So, it’s been a week since we have gotten rid of our blessed Tivo! Isn’t that amazing? No more entertainment at the click of a beautifully designed ergonomically correct remote. Actually we should be honest, we got rid of the whole thing. No more cable here. I don’t say this in any kind of judgemental way, like, “YOU NEED TO REPENT FROM YOUR SINS AND GET RID OF YOUR CABLE BOX!”. Not at all. I mean, we can still be friends if you have cable… 🙂
To be honest with you, I don’t miss it. I don’t miss it at all. I feel more productive. It is great. I have found that I have more time to do things that I really want to do. I love being cable free. Let’s see how I do after a month or two. But after a week, I’m doing pretty good. And saving $33.

Oh this one really hit home today! Read my post on I can’t believe he did that…
Our 8 year old is totally hooked on tv. totally. We are saving $$ everywhere we can so we can cancel directv and basically yank all tv out of the house. We live way out in the sticks so only get CBS and NBC. And if he keeps it up after that (which neither my husband or I believe he will) we will pull the tvs totally out of the house. I’ll be getting a better internet service so I can catch the weather though…
